![]() Back in September, I elected to make my new book Death’s Good Intentions a Kindle exclusive. Part of the deal also meant that the book was added to the Kindle Unlimited library, so it could be read for free by subscribers to that service. Well, I wanted to give you an update and let you know that Death’s Good Intentions will no longer be a Kindle exclusive starting in 2015. December 27th is set to be the final day of my enrollment in Kindle Select and Kindle Unlimited. The ebook will begin appearing on other sites like Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and iTunes soon thereafter. It’ll still be available on Amazon, just not exclusively. So, for those of you who wanted to read the book but did not wish to feed the Amazon machine, you can have your chance to pick it up elsewhere soon enough. And to anybody reading the book in the Kindle Unlimited program: I do not know what will happen to your ebook download when the book is taken out of the Kindle Unlimited catalog on December 27th. It could disappear from your Kindle library or it might let you read it to the end. Either way, if you’re enjoying it, my advice would be to try to finish before December 27th. You know, just in case. As far as the whole Kindle exclusive thing goes, I know it seems to be a hotly debated question among self-published authors. Exclusivity sucks but Amazon is where most the sales come from. It’s a tough choice. Ultimately, I chose the Kindle Select package for the minimum three months to see if it could help give the book some traction. But now with the prequel books in the End of the World and Some Other Things series getting downloaded in larger numbers elsewhere, I no longer wanted Death’s Good Intentions to be an Amazon exclusive. I might consider going the Kindle Select route again with a future book – I like the benefits – but I won’t be making any of the books from this series an exclusive again. Well, probably not, anyway. The future might get weird… So anywho. I just wanted to give you an update about Death’s Good Intentions. I should have new info on my next book soon. Take care! -- Kyle
