So excited about the return of Twin Peaks. Awesome awesome awesome. Can’t wait! Guess I gotta sign up for Showtime in 2016, heh.
I first watched the show on DVD many years after it originally aired. So, I haven’t had to wait the full 25 years for new episodes. Still, I never really thought this would ever actually happen.
It’s interesting that David Lynch and Showtime are announcing this as a limited series with a total of 9 episodes. Part of me wants more because, you know, a fan always wants more. But then I remember how much better the first season of Twin Peaks was compared to the second, and I’m reminded of how much shorter the first season was. So perhaps the series is at its best with limited episodes and a more constrained plot structure. Either way, I trust Lynch and Frost to know what they’re doing. And I’m eager to see what the show will be like on Showtime. Seriously, watch some of the old episodes, there are moments so chilling that it’s a wonder how they ever aired on network TV in the 90s. It’ll be interesting if Showtime allows Lynch and Frost to kick it up a notch and get really freaky.
So many questions.
I’m frickin happy about this news.
